The retired general and Justin Trudeau adviser told me Friday he’s still doing “due diligence” to choose an Ottawa riding in which to run. He likes Ottawa-Orléans a lot but isn’t yet decided.
Also, this is going around:

MEET ANDREW LESLIE … LET ME KNOW!
(Le français suit)
Dear Fellow Liberal,
In a few months, we will have to select the Federal Liberal candidate to represent Ottawa-Orléans at the next federal election.
We need a person of the highest caliber who not only stands for the liberal values and understands the needs of our community, but who has the capacity to put solutions in motion to ensure the prosperity of Ottawa-Orléans. Above all, we need someone who can defeat the Conservative opponent during the next election!
To be successful, such person must also be able to work with all stakeholders in our community, to have the ear of the party’s leadership and to be recognized as a credible and valuable champion both inside and outside of the Liberal family.
Somebody with such a profile is not easy to find. This is the reason why I’ve joined a group of concerned Ottawa-Orléans Liberals to support the candidacy of General Andrew Leslie, former commander of the Canadian Army.
Andrew is a real leader with the ideal qualifications to make a great Member of Parliament and representative of the riding of Ottawa-Orléans. He truly embodies the liberal and democratic values that are dear to us. Now that he has retired from the Canadian Forces, Andrew is committed to continue being of service for his community and his country.Recognizing his experience, Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau has recruited Andrew as one of his principal advisers and to co-chair, with former astronaut and MP Marc Garneau, the National Liberal policy development Committee on International affairs. The focus of this Committee is to solicit ideas from Canadians and develop future policy in the areas of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Defence, Security, Foreign Aid, Immigration and Refugees, and Cybersecurity.
With such a leader as our candidate, I am not only convinced we can win the next federal election, but that Andrew Leslie would be the driving force we need to ensure that Ottawa-Orléans finally gets the attention it deserves. He is the best choice Liberals in Orléans could hope for as their next representative in House of Commons and in a future Liberal government.
Please join me, join our movement, in supporting Andrew Leslie for the federal Liberal nomination in Ottawa-Orleans, which will be held in a few months, and to become our next candidate in the 2015 federal election.
It is for all these reasons that I ask you to join me, to join our support for the nomination of Andrew Leslie moving and to represent us in the federal election of 2015.
If you would like the opportunity to meet Andrew Leslie, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jean Hébert
Campaign Leader
